Our goal is to help and support people who stutter, as well as to inform society about what stuttering truly is and what it means for individuals to have this characteristic. To carry out our work, we have set the following objectives:
- To develop and sustain projects to help people who stutter, including:
- Regular self-help or therapy groups.
- One-off workshops or conferences related to stuttering.
- Appearing in the media to raise awareness about stuttering.
- Raising awareness in society about the nature and challenges of stuttering and the needs of people who stutter.
- Identifying and promoting effective therapies.
- Maintaining national and international relationships to expand knowledge and exchange information about stuttering, for example, at conferences, congresses, meetings, etc.
- Informing and collaborating with education and healthcare professionals to better address the needs of children and adults who stutter. To advise and inform the media about the challenges posed by stuttering and recommend a code of best practices for reporting on this topic.
- To prevent and combat situations in which the dignity of people who stutter is violated in the media.
- To prevent and combat discriminatory situations against people who stutter in social settings, especially in the workplace and schools.
- To promote the creation and modification of labor, social, health, and educational laws that address the needs of people who stutter.
- To raise awareness among public authorities about the need to legislate and act with the needs of people who stutter in mind.
- To facilitate the development of interdisciplinary approaches to prevent and treat stuttering.
- To promote research on stuttering.
- To facilitate interaction and communication among people who stutter, their families, professionals who treat stuttering, and researchers. Advise on the creation of other organizations that defend the same objectives and support them.
